Rosewood with possibly original velvet

This chair was designed by H.W. Batley and made by Collison & Lock, London, and the model was exhibited at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876. The back seat rail is stamped ‘COLLINSON & LOCK 6382 LONDON’.
