This model of a chair was originally designed by C.F.A. Voysey, for W. Ward-Higgs Esq. (1866–1936) at 23 Queensborough Terrace, London. This particular chair was owned by Voysey at the time of his death, then by his son, Charles Cowles-Voysey, and then by the Voysey family’s doctor, Joan Slack (b.1925). The upholstery fabric, Malmsley, was designed by Voysey in 1895.
