Ebonised beech with original oil cloth seat

This chair was designed by Edward Blore for Lambeth Palace,
London, and made by Gillow & Co. The front seat rail is stamped
‘LAMBETH PALACE’, and the back seat rail bears an ivorine
plaque that reads, ‘LAMBETH PALACE’, and partially covers
stamped initials, possibly of the chair-maker.
