This is a copy of a chair once owned by Horace Walpole, and
of another example at the Bishop’s Palace at Wells, in Somerset.
The carved Latin lettering reads, ‘JOHN ARTHUR MONK OF
GLASTONBURY’. The chair is from St Swithin’s Church, Bath,
Somerset.
